About Conner Jewell

My name is Conner Jewell, and I am a senior at Franklin College studying English and Pre-Law. I live on a fourth-generation family farm in Edinburgh, Indiana, where my family raises cows, chickens, and barn cats. Alongside writing, I enjoy classic literature, film, and coaching soccer.

As an individual who has spent my entire life living in a rural setting, I believe I am strongly attuned to my natural surroundings. The rise of artificial intelligence is antithetical to our understanding of our own experience as human beings and confuses our relationship with the natural world. THE TUNNELS OF SAINT LORENZO is in discussion with these ideas—I wanted to reflect the inhumanity of artificial intelligence in the unnaturalness of the tunnel atmosphere and the Propaganda Machine. THE TUNNELS OF SAINT LORENZO is my debut novel.
